Our Functions as the LSCC

WHY WE EXIST

As outlined in paragraph 13.7 of the Code, our functions include:

Monitoring Compliance – overseeing adherence to the Legal Sector Code in both state and private legal procurement.

Providing Guidance – issuing clarifications, support, and resources on Code interpretation and implementation.

Revising the Code – initiating and supervising updates to ensure the Code remains relevant to sector realities.

The Legal Sector Charter Council (LSCC) operates throughout the country and engages Law Firms, Advocates, SOEs, and Organs of State through national consultations and localised outreach to ensure easy compliance with the code as a means to monitor and ultimately ensure the transformation of the legal profession.
